More than 500 orthodontists from 40 different countries visited Dubai to join the 3M Unitek Symposium “Future of intelligent orthodontics”, held from March 6 to 7, 2009. The event took place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, one of the best conference hotels in Dubai. In five different lectures held by renowned speakers (Prof. Zachrisson, Dr. Toreskog, Dr. Christensen, Dr. Sondhi and Dr. Wiechmann) the guests were able to obtain latest information on the “future of intelligent orthodontics”. On the second day participants could learn more about self-ligating, temporary anchorage devices and digital development in three workshops with additional case study presentations and hands-on workshops.

Social highlight of this event was the Gala Dinner. Following a bus and 4-wheel drive tour through the desert, Paul Rosso, Vice President Europe/Mid East opened a 5-star buffet set at a true Arabic Desert Campsite. A rich entertainment program including belly dancers, henna painters, fortune tellers, and a lot more made this very special Gala Dinner unforgettable.
